As the Weather Turns Cold Feral Cats Need Our Help

Help Provide Shelter for Those Who Need it Most

It is the unfortunate reality of the country we live in that cats are experiencing an epidemic of over-population. The good news is that there IS something you can do to help them.

Now that the weather is turning, it is a good time to provide shelter for stray and/or feral cats. You can open up your barn or shed to a shelter-seeking colony, you can convert an old dog house, or you can make your own shelter.

  1. spay and neuter all of your pets
  2. trap, neuter, and release stray cats
  3. provide food and shelter for stray cats during the cold months
  4. provide food for stray cats during the warm months
Alley Cat Allies is a wonderful resource for all of your stray cat questions; you can visit them at www.alleycat.org. You can find out how to build an inexpensive shelter out of a plastic storage container at PACT Humane Society’s website.
