Captain Trouble (Cap'n Crunch)

Hug Image 2 Hug Image 3 Hug Image 4

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

I would like to thank you for taking care of me and helping me to find a good home. I love my sisters Nini (Needles) and Cookie (Pins) very much. They are fun to play with and chase around the house. I have lots of toys to play with and I even have frogs, fish, birds and squirrels that I love to watch. My favorite game is to play mouse, I find a favorite toy mouse and take it to mommy or daddy then they throw it for me, I chase it and bring it back to them so they can throw it again. Cookie and Nini love to play laser, they chase it on the floor and even jump up the wall to try and catch the little red dot. We even get to go for rides in the car to visit people. We’ve been to Cleveland several times to visit daddy’s family and we’ve been to Upper Arlington to visit my grandma there. I like to meet new people that I can play and snuggle with but home is still better.

I’ve had a little bit of a rough year, I injured my tail and had to go to MedVet for emergency surgery, now I only have half a tail but I don’t care I’m still happy. Nini was scared of me at first when I was wearing that icky collar to keep me from bothering my stitches but then she got used to it and was my best friend again, even comforted me and gave me a hug.

I was amazed when another kitty (Cookie) moved in with us in August. I wanted to be friends with her right away but she didn’t understand and was scared, now we’re friends and everything is good. I was also coughing a lot and my doctor thought it could be something serious so I had lots of x-rays and had to go see a specialist at MedVet, thank you so much for helping with the bills. Thankfully they think it’s just asthma or bronchitis and I’m feeling a bit better now.

I really don’t like going to the vet anymore, I get scared but who wouldn’t be scared with all the stuff they’ve done to me. Nini and Cookie are always ready to welcome me home if I go someplace without them, they don’t like it when I go away. I just want to play and snuggle as much as I can, I’ve really got it good here. Nini and I have been here for a whole year today (February 19, 2008). Keep up the good work taking care of others like myself and helping them to find good homes. I’m really happy here with everybody and would like everybody else to be as happy as I am.

With lots of purrs and snuggles,

Captain Trouble
(Cap’n Crunch)

PS Could you tell mommy and daddy that I’m not always the one ripping up the toilet paper, sometimes I get framed by Nini.

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

We are writing to share our success story in adopting Jitterbug, now know as Archie. He has really made up to his new "sisters" at our house and especially loves to hang out with his new sister Zowie (see picture). The rest of the time Archie is pretty laid back (see picture) - he really knows how to relax. We love him so much, and he has been such a joy to have.

Thank you for all you did for Archie and all you do for animals!

Wheezie (aka Suzie)

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

We adopted a very tiny, 6 month old black kitten named Suzie from you folks back in January. We thought we'd give you an update. Suzie is now named Wheezie, thanks to a little coughing spell she was going through when she first moved in. She's over that, but the name stuck. She's settled in quite well and gets along tolerably with our older, fatter black cat Biki. She is a ball of energy and loves playing fetch. She loves the play houses we got her, but her favorite toys are some little sparkle balls we bought at the store. She also loves trying to climb up our dracaena plant, which I am not so fond of...

We're attaching a few photos of Wheezie for your enjoyment. :)

Mystique and Suzy

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

It's been five years since we adopted Mystique and Suzy from Forgotten 4 Paws, and they have been the best five years I can remember! We only wanted one kitten, but since they were such close sisters, Nancy Johnston talked us into adopting both of them. It was the best decision we ever made, we can't imagine not having both of them in our lives. Mystique loves smothering me at night, sleeping on my chest, and Suzy sleeps in her own cozy bed on the floor. They have both grown to have their own individual identities, totally different from the other. Every time I think of our initial decision of only wanting one cat, I am grateful we made the decision we did. I hope you will make sure Nancy Johnston knows how happy we are with them, and show her how much they have grown up!

THANK YOU FORGOTTEN 4 PAWS!!!!!

Shelby & Salem

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

I just wanted to let you know that the girls are doing great. They have really relaxed the last week. They are both approaching John pretty freely although if we "sneak" up on them they still get spooked. I have a collage of pictures to share with you. I think Shelby thinks we have a third cat because she plays with her reflection in the bathtub drain cover. It's really cute. Salem is a lap cat and loves to sit in my lap while we watch TV. She even watches with us!

Have a great week,

Diane

Sunny

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

It was just one month ago that we brought Sunny (formerly "Sammie") into our lives and he is doing just super!! Within days he was just fine with our big Golden, Dasher, and as you will see from the two attached pics, the two of them really enjoy each other's company. They both "beg" in the kitchen when we prepare food! It is so funny. Also, they are exactly the same color which I had no idea until they were side-by-side. Separated at birth! The girls absolutely adore him. They call him "Sunny Patch" (after kids' show called "Sunny Patch Kids") and sing a song that goes like this "Sunny Patch, Sunny Patch, You're my favorite Kitty Cat..." They put on concerts for him. He just takes it all in. Having had a senior cat (15 yrs. Old) before Sunny, we had forgotten what it was like to have an active cat. He runs and jumps and plays and it is really fun. We have been showering him with TONS of TLC!! He is a lap cat for sure. The one thing I've noticed is that he has gotten more talkative in the past week. He is starting to "talk" to us more which is so neat to see. He follows me around as his "person" and I just love it. He is adjusting to his new food (California Natural Chicken/Rice) and gobbles it up. His vet visit went great-he is so mellow. (Didn't quite like his nail trim!) Well, thanks so much for your time in helping us adopt this wonderful addition to our family. We LOVE him dearly.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Otis and the Otis Family

Sierra

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

Time flies but is has been 15 months since we have brought Sierra home. She has fitted in well despite some initial grumbling from her new brother Frodo.

Sierra is known by the kids in the neighborhood as "The dog who likes everybody". Her favorite things to do are to walk and give kisses to everyone she meets.

Thanks forgotten 4 paws for such a great addition to our family.

Mike, Laurie, Sierra and Frodo

Lewis

Lewis Image 1 Lewis Image 3 Lewis Image 2

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

Hi my name is Lewis. I don't know if you remember me, but you helped me find my forever home almost one year ago now. I spent a long time in "the system" at the Franklin County Dog Shelter. I thought I would never get my happy ending, but you didn't give up on me and now I have the family I've always dreamed about. My tail hardly stops wagging! My new two legged brothers keep me very busy playing fetch and chase. Mom and dad bought me some really fun toys, and my favorite chewy bone. My sister Maggie keeps me warm on these long winter nights, we love to snuggle. She's not too bad for a Chihuahua. I sometimes get into a little trouble for chasing my kitty sister, Carly. She sure can run fast!

When I arrived here, I was a little naughty. Mom and dad knew that I had never had a real home before with "rules," so they were very patient with me. Mom and I went to an obedience class, I was a shining star. I made my mom really proud! With a little time and alot of loving guidance, I have become the good boy I was always meant to be.

Although I am a big boy, I really like it when my dad holds me like a baby. It is so nice to have a family that loves me, and a big yard in the country to play in. I finally know what that forever home everyone kept talking about means.

Thank you for not giving up on me, and helping me find the right family for me. I couldn't be happier!

Thanks,
Lewis

Kit Kat (aka Wasabi)

Wasabi Image 1 Wasabi Image 2 Wasabi Image 3

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

My family adopted a tabby kitten from the Brice Rd Petsmart location a little over three weeks ago. The kitten's name was Wasabi but his 9 year old "sister" renamed him "Kit Kat".

Kit Kat settled in without any issues and now rules the house, as any cat does. He was taken over the dog's bed and tries hard to steal the dog's food and treats (while the dog lets him do these things, we do draw the line at the food/treats).

I thought you might enjoy these pictures of Kit Kat with his new best friend, an 80 pound labradoodle named Buddy. It was love at first sight!

Thanks,
Lori Archibald

Allegra (aka Sprite)

Allegra Image 1 Allegra Image 2 Allegra Image 3

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

I just wanted to send you an update and a few pictures of Sprite (now known as Allegra). I also wanted to say thank you for all that your organization does for animals without homes. I have included a few pictures of her with Maestro, her new big brother - she is the smaller one w/ more orange eyes. It's been 3 months since I brought her home and everything has gone perfectly. She and Maestro couldn't be closer, and he's been more than willing to teach her everything he knows. They both are fairly energetic so they spend a good amount of time running around and playing (feather sticks are their favorite). When they're finally tired they curl up together for a nap. Allegra continues to be sweet and well-socialized with both people and other animals (she was the hit of my family's holiday gathering this December); you all have done an excellent job.

Thanks Again,
Melinda

"Big Al" his forgotten 4-paws name or Sampson/sammy/sam/sam-bo!!! or just baby boy is what his name is today is turning 1 years old soon and I thought if his brothers and sisters families wanted to see him again they should know how to get in touch with us and that we would love to meet them. anyways he is a big boy almost 65# but very athletic in build and the light of our life he goes everywhere with me and even still sleeps in the bed with us . even his brother stanley (6 year old green iguana) and sister skinny puppy (10 year old black cat) love him sometime he plays harder than everyone else likes and needs a timeout but we still love him the same...

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

Wanted to give you an update. The kitties are doing well in their forever home. I did change their names, Roslind is now Marmalade and Cary is Caviar. It took less than a week for them to become comfortable and to get to know their older and much larger brother Macallan but know they are the best of friends and I think Marmie might even have a crush on Mac.

Caviar is the lover and the clown and Marm, well, she's much more independent, exploring and always getting into things. They've had a huge influence on Mac. He's learning how to play like a kitten again and always wants to know where they are and what's going on. It's a real joy seeing them all together and having them here takes some of the pain out of losing my sweet angel tailless.

I've enclosed some photos, hope you enjoy them!!!

thank you again....

Mittens

Mittens Image

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

Mittens is doing great and is a very happy little girl (I think we have had each other for a little over two years now). Even though my other two kitties probably would have been just as happy had she stayed away, they have all adjusted to each other over time. One tolerates her and the other actually has grown to like her.
Every night when we go to bed Mittens brings eight (8) slippers up onto the bed and waits for me to thank her and to tell her how sweet and nice she is (which of course I do).
She is a lovey lap kitty and I would not trade her for all the tea in China. Mittens still has her respitory difficulties and will be on medication - maybe forever - but she is chubby, healthy, happy and such a sweetheart. I thank God for Forgotten4Paws saving my little girl

Destiny and Phoebe

Destiny and Phoebe Image

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

We saw Destiny and Phoebe on your site 3 years ago and fell in love with them. Although we had some initial behavioral problems from their pre-rescue life, it was nothing that a few obedience classes couldn't take care of. Now we have a baby and here is what we learned from our dogs to apply to raising our baby:

1. We're gonna drool and slobber - get used to it.
2. If you don't want me to chew your shoes, don't give me toys that look like shoes. So do not get any cell phones as toys for the baby - we don't want her to "play" with ours...
3. If I'm sleeping, let me sleep. I'm much cuter after I've had a little nap. After I'm well rested I can do lots of cute tricks and show off, but don't wake me up and expect me to perform.
4. If you've puppy-proofed your house, you can count on it being baby-proofed.
5. Play time is not optional. I need exercise and so does the baby!
6. A little love goes a long way!
7. Each minute spent with your pet (and baby) is precious so enjoy it.
8. Take the time to train me and you will be forever happy with my behavior.

Here is Phoebe and Destiny with baby Ainsley.

Thanks!
Renae Spurgeon

P.S. There were two other dogs fostered with our girls (we kept their original names). But if anyone has Jersey (who was a dobie mix fostered by Andrea) and Piper, their sister, (the brindle boxer who was fostered by Chris and Aaron) - we'd love to see pictures of them and know how they are doing. We adopted our girls at the end of January 2003 if this helps with tracing the other two.

Hi all!

I've finally found out how to use this digital camera and email business, so here is a picture of me with my new best friend Savannah. (She's the one on the left in the picture). I have a new name and now go by Tequila or "Teke" for short.

It is really nice to be in my new forever home and I have made a bunch of new friends! I love to ride in the car and go to the horse barn with Savannah. My favorite thing is to play wrassle with Yetta the Rottweiler and steal her toys. She loves it and chases me until I dive under the bed. I also enjoy sharing cereal in bed with Savannah and watching Sesame Street....Boy those things are weird!

Once Savannah goes to bed (her bedtime is earlier than mine..YIPEE) I get to play with my other family members and get to sleep in the bed and watch TV while eating popcorn. It is a tough life I have to admit. Mom signed me up for agility class whatever that is, but they tell me I will get to climb, jump and run....so it sounds great so far. That, and I get treats for doing things well so I am pretty excited about it.

Thanks to everyone for helping me find a home where I am greatly loved. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to have my own family and I am trying hard to make you all proud of me.

Much Love and licks,

Tequila (formerly Twinkle)

Hello Forgotten Four Paws Family!

I wanted to email and let you know that I am doing just great. I have now been in my forever home for just over a year and I am loving it. When I arrived here, I was still recovering from some icky problems, but now I am thriving. In fact, I have doubled my weight and am now close to 85 pounds. My Mommy jokes that I am a beagle/pony mix!

Not long after I arrived my Mommy found out she was going to have a baby! Now my furry sister and I play everyday with 5 month old Eleanor. We cannot wait for her to start eating cheerios! I hear that is a great thing. Almost as great as sleeping on the bed with the family.

Thank you so much for taking me in and helping me find my family. My Mommy says that without me there would be a "Jack-sized-hole" in the family. Here is a picture of me now.

LOVE!

Hi everyone!

As much as we enjoyed our Fall Photo Op outside on the straw, we were thrilled to take our Holiday pictures. Daddy put up the biggest 'cat climber' that you can imagine! Then he decoratated it with all sorts of shiny, sparkly, dangly stuff that we can play with!! Some of our cousins have Cat Condos, but we have a tree!!!! And boy do we love to climb it!!
Daddy even discussed putting a train around the tree, but we overheard him say that who needs a train when you have two kittens chasing each other around the tree! The only disappointment that we have is that our tree is not real, so we can't drink the water from the stand. But we got over it when Daddy put presents under the tree!!! We have already opened most of them so we already know what we got. I guess that we will just have to act surprised on Christmas Day.
I hope you all had a Happy Enjoyable Holiday Season!

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

My mommy and daddy wanted me to send you a hello. I am doing great in Cincinnati with my family. My mom moved here for work soon after she got me. While here she met my dad and they are getting married in January.

They are so thankful for getting me, they wanted me to tell you that I have been a fantastic dog and they don't know what they would do without me. Also, I have a sister now. Her name is Maddie and she is a miniature pin. We fight sometimes, but overall I like her. Well, that is my update! Happy new year!

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

I adopted Nadia from your organization and would like to mail in some recent photos of her and her friends here! I LOVE her so much! She is a total clown and extremely affectionate.

Every night she stands and waits until I'm in the bed with my covers arranged, watching me for the okay, they she jumps into the bed and puts her head on my chest and gazes into my eyes like I'm wonder woman. She is a riot!

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

I'm not sure if you'll remember us or not, but we adopted Lott (a black cat) and Oden (a gray cat) several years ago. We changed their to Macaroni (Mackie) and Cheese. They both became quite fat and happy living with us!
Mackie and Cheese got a baby brother in 2003 - his name is Frito. He was rescued from a potentially sad life living under someone's front porch. Thankfully his brothers and sisters were rescued too. The cats all get along great.
We're now living in San Diego, California, but we never forget how wonderful everyone at Forgotten 4-Paws was in helping us find Cheese and Mackie!
Sincerely,

Laurie & David, Macaroni and Cheese

Skyla

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

Its been about a month since we adopted Mona (Skyla!). We saw her brother Henry (Stoli) on your Happy Endings site and just HAD to write in about our Mona Girl! She is an absolute angel and looks exactly like Henry with the exception of the legs. She inherited the lab frame and is very long and gangly at this point but adorable just the same. She had a great transition from her foster home to ours. Her foster family was so wonderful we were concerned that there might be a problem with her getting used to us but she fit in immediately and now pretty much runs the house. She's so sweet and loving and just wants to be with any one of us all the time and we easily accommodate her!
Thanks for everything that you do for these loving creatures. Its been a completely wonderful experience finding out about the adoption of pets. To me, there's no other way to go. There's so much to be gained by both the pet and the family that easily everyone wins!
After losing Maxx (our cocker/beagle) after 10-1/2 years, I would have never believed that we could love another dog as much but we do. I actually think it was because we cared so much for him that we were able to feel the way we do about Mona. Maxx will never be forgotten (he was the first pet our kids ever had) but Miss Monie Bologna has reminded us of the joy of having a wonderful pet and we'll adore her for years to come!

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

My boyfriend and I adopted a dog from your organization in Dec 2003 his original name was "Nicholas" and he is a chow/shephard/lab mix, he has turned out to be the cutest, friendliest, best dog in the world and we love him to pieces.  In august of that year we unfortunately went through the loss of our first born son, so when we obtained we feel he was an angel sent from above because he helped us get through a very difficult time.

Elle (Ella)

Ella Image 1

Dear Forgotten4-Paws:

Just thought that we would drop you a line to update you on Ella (Elle in this house). Elle Mae is doing just wonderful. She is such an incredible dog!! It seems like just yesterday that you brought her to our house. We can't believe how fast the time has gone. Or how fast she has grown. Of course she still has her little Corgi body. But not the appetite to match. She is now up to 18lbs. but she carries it nicely.
At this time, she is recovering from her most recent visit to the vet. She was spayed on Monday (12/12/05). Everybody at the veterinarian's office said she did fantastic!! The only problem they had was keeping her in her cage overnight. Apparently everybody there had to take turns holding her. Not that we can blame any of them. After all she is the perfect lap dog. So once again, this little note brings you many thanks for helping us find our perfect family pet.
And once again, thank you for entrusting her to us.

Sincerely,

Jason, Angela, Caitlyn, and Morgan

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

I just wanted to contact you, to say hello, and to wish you a Very Happy Holiday. I have enclosed some pictures of Zippy. He is a wonderful addition to our family, we love him so much.

As you can see in the photos, he loves the camera, he is such a ham...... Zippy is such a big boy now, he looks totally different from when we first received him. I also wanted to thank you and your organization forgotten 4-paws for allowing us the opportunity to be Pet owners. Have a wonderful Holiday Season....

Thanks and regards,

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

We have a match made in Heaven with Bo, formerly Chip. He is one excited, energetic, and happy puppy. We got Bo in July and he has gone through Puppy Training at Petsmart and loved it. He gets along with all the neighborhood kids and they even ask if he can come out and play.

Thanks so much for bringing Bo into our lives. We don't what we would do without him.

Ziggy

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

I have attached a photo of Ziggy and our other lab, Orson. They are the best of friends and we love them to death! I told Ziggy that I thought it would be nice for his birthday (Nov) if we donated money to help some dogs and cats that are still looking for loving homes and he wagged his tail in agreement.

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

We wanted to give you an update on Henry (Stoli). It has been almost four months since we adopted Henry -- and he has brought so much happiness to our lives. He is so well adjusted - and loved by everyone who meets him.

He housetrained very easily and shows signs of being very intelligent. He is a fun, rambunctious puppy, but also sweet and cuddly -- crawling into our laps for a snooze. He has so much personality - and can be a real riot! Our older dog, Schnik, has also become very fond of Henry - they wrestle, play and race around the backyard chasing squirrels and their shadows!

We want to thank you for the great service that you provide - and for helping Henry to become part of our lives. He is such a sweet, loving dog -- and makes us smile everytime we look at him.

Hoya

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

We fosterd Hoya, but fell in love and kept her. When she was dropped off we were warned she might take a while to warm up. As soon as the door was shut she jumped up and claimed my husband's lap. She has a few issues we have to deal with, but after fostering her for a few weeks it was nearly impossible to consider giving her up, so we adopted her.

Thank you

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

It has been almost a year since Kenzie came to live with me. I figured now would be a good time to send a few photos and let you know how she is doing.
Kenzie is very happy and energetic. She adjusted very well to her new home. There is never a dull moment with her around. She is a very important member of the family. I wouldn't know what to do without her. She gets along great with my parents' 4 1/2 year old Lhasa Apso. They spend a lot of time together playing in the yard, etc. Kenzie and I participated in a 5K walk in May to help raise money for other homeless / rescued pets.
I would like to say thank you for allowing her to be a part of my life. She is wonderful. I made November 10 (the day I adopted her) her birthday. We are taking a trip to PetSmart for some new toys. I thought about buying her a "doggie" bed, but she prefers the bed in the spare bedroom - the "OSU room". It is now Kenzie's room. You will see in one of the pictures that she has claimed the bed as her own. Life wouldn't be the same without her.

Thank you,

Kenzie and Teresa

Reno

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

just wanted to give you an update on Reno. She is doing great, and has gotten over her fear of her crate - she even goes in there by herself now! She is a wonderful watchdog, and loves the boys. We can't thank you enough for such a great addition to the family. Here is a recent picture of her, she certainly has grown into a beautful girl!!

Take care,

Daisy and Onyx

Onyx and Daisy Image

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

I am finally sending you a picture of Onyx and Daisy for "happy endings".

As you can see they get along very well most of the time.  Actually since Katie moved out and took Daisy, they get along better than ever.  I know Onyx really misses having Daisy around, so Katie brings her over once or twice a week to play with him.  Please tell Libby that we appreciate all she has done for Daisy.  Sometimes I wonder if some of the scratching is due to habit instead of something really bothering her.  We are hoping that if it is an allergy, it is from something that is outside that will be killed with the first hard frost.  My husband says he wouldn't give Onyx away for a million dollars, and that he is glad no one else ever picked him (although I feel sorry for Onyx that it took so long for him to have a real home).  We appreciate your organization and tell others about Forgotten4-paws all the time.  Whenever we hear someone say they might want to adopt a dog, we give them the website address.

Thank you,

Elaine, John, Katie and Sarah

Precious/Baby Girl

Baby Girl Image

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,

I wanted to send you an update on Baby Girl, also known as Precious. She is now 8.12 lbs, and very very happy, as are we! She has adapted to her new home and family very well. She loves to run around the back yard with the boys and wear them out!! She is still very cuddly and loving and has learned to get along with the cat.  She is crate trained and almost completely house trained (she is still having poo-poo accidents). We are working with the Vet on some new ideas in this area.

Baby Girl is as we call her the newest member of our family. I only hope that we continue to make her as happy as she has made all of us.

Attached are a couple of pictures of Baby Girl, as you can see she hasn't really changed very much except the darker strip on her back has gotten a little more prominent.

Hope all is well with you and will continue to send you updates every so often:)

Gracie

Dear Forgotten 4-Paws,
Hi...We just got back from our weekend in Michigan for the Dog Scout Fall Outing. Gracie did wonderful...we are so proud of her! She started off Friday barking at any dogs she saw but with a little work by Saturday morning she was walking around the lodge and playing in the playground with all the other dogs. She is walking great on leash..when ever she pulls ahead I just stop and wait and she comes right back to my side.:) She sits and waits to go in or out doors, she almost has down on cue....well I guess you can tell we have bonded with her and just think she is the smartest of girls!
Braxel is treating her just like a little sister now. He plays with her some and ignores her some. They are so cute when they fall asleep snuggled together.
If its ok we will go ahead with adopting her soon.
Talk to you soon,
Cindy, John, Braxel, & Gracie
