"When I came across Hoobie in Huber Park, located in Reynoldsburg, he was a very desperate kitty. I was riding my bike with a friend and. as we rode slowly by, he ran towards us. I stopped and he gratefully accepted some head scratches and petting. He tried to talk to us, but he had no voice, just a quiet raspy noise came from his mouth. I could see that he was in trouble so I sent my friend home without me to get a car. For about half an hour I petted and talked to Hoobie and observed him. Every time a group of people walked by he would run to them, he seemed to be lost. He was thin, apparently he hadn't eaten for some time. He did surprisingly well when I put him in a carrier to take home considering I was a stranger to him. A vet check revealed that he was FeLV positive, but he showed so much spirit and had such a positive nature that I decided to nurse him back to good health. At first he was weak and had trouble standing up, but after several months he gained weight, got his voice back and regained his strength. A return to the vet now revealed that he had overcome the FeLV virus, but was apparently incubating FIV when I rescued him since he now tested positive for FIV. But he is now FeLV negative! He needs a home where he can roam about, so he would need to either be placed with other FIV positive cat(s) or be an only cat. He is a neutered male, about 2 years old, vaccinated and tells me everyday how much he wants a loving home!"Please Contact msystems4378@wowway.com for more information.
